It’s no surprise that Health was a central topic of this year’s CES, and not just for organisations traditionally concerned with it. The following is a synthesis of four common themes at this year’s CES that may make the difference between failure and success for disruptive digital health solutions in 2021.

I start by throwing some light on the importance of considering Trust as a core principle for design. I explore how we engender trust in products and services using AI, a technology that is getting a questionable reputation and is sometimes unintelligible to the user and may be unexplainable in principle.
Patient centricity is everything — (or is it?)
In the second post, I tackle the familiar argument for the need for patient centricity, which rightly trains our focus on patient needs, but bears the danger of ignoring the needs and impact on other actors in the healthcare ecosystem.

In the third piece, I consider what the pandemic-induced shift of healthcare into the home and the expansion of consumer brands into the realm of health mean for medical devices.
